Chandra M. Lewnau practiced law in Austin, Texas for over 10 years before moving to Seattle in 2010. She is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Texas School of Law. Chandra first became interested in the estate planning field as a student attorney at UT's Elderlaw Clinic, an interest that was solidified by watching family members struggle to manage the affairs of loved ones with dementia who had failed to make legal arrangements in advance. After being admitted to the Texas bar in 1999, Chandra worked for a small firm where she gained experience in a wide range of litigation, tax, and transactional areas. The firm was a pioneer in establishing paternal inheritance rights for illegitimate children in Texas and handled other contested probate cases involving will contests, fiduciary litigation, and other matters. In most of these cases, an effective estate plan would have saved years of expensive litigation.

Chandra also worked as de facto in-house counsel for Lawyer's Aid Service, Inc. (LAS), a company that has helped Texas lawyers form thousands of entities, such as corporations, limited liability companies, nonprofit corporations, limited partnerships, and professional associations. Chandra represented LAS in a variety of legal matters and litigation. Chandra was the principal author of one of LAS's best-selling products, a Texas limited liability company record book. Sometimes called a corporate kit, a record book is a customizable form book containing a company agreement or bylaws, meeting minutes, tax, and stock transfer sections—all the key forms and instructions a new LLC or corporation would need to get started.

Chandra was admitted to the Washington bar in 2011. She is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust section of the Washington Bar. Her practice areas include estate planning, probate, small business formation and governance, nonprofit formation and 501(c)(3) applications.

A long-time shelter volunteer and animal welfare advocate, Chandra can often be found walking her two dogs or taking them for a swim year-round.
