Areas of Practice:  Estate Planning, Probate, Civil Litigation

My current practice includes estate planning, probate, and civil litigation.  I believe that clients prefer to be educated about their legal issues so that they can make informed decisions.  I work hard to keep legal fees and costs as reasonable as possible by listening carefully to my clients' goals and encouraging alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, whenever possible.  Advocating for a client and securing a favorable outcome--one that has a positive impact on their life or business--is incredibly satisfying.

Before attending law school I worked as a complex litigation paralegal for more than 15 years in some of the most highly-respected law firms in Seattle.  Identifying legal issues, managing discovery, writing motions, and assisting with trials and arbitrations gave me invaluable experience in case assessment, strategy, research, writing, and advocacy.

While attending Seattle University School of Law, I was an editor on the Seattle Journal for Social Justice and a legal intern in the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic in mediation and family law.

I enjoy volunteering at the King County Bar Association's Neighborhood Legal Clinics and being a speaker at continuing legal education seminars on topics such as practice management and ethics for the Washington State Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Eastside Legal Assistance Program, and Seattle Select Attorneys Association

In my spare time, you can find me working out at the gym with my husband, playing with our exuberant Labrador retrievers, and pursuing creative writing projects.
