CLEs & Calendar

A core value of Seattle Select Attorneys is continuous improvement. One way we help lawyers improve is by offering continuing legal education seminars on a variety of topics by a variety of speakers.  Past topics include: estate planning basics, residential real estate, a lawyer's duty to provide pro bono representation, securities law, immigration, and ethics for solo and small firm attorneys. Our continuing legal education seminars are accredited through the Washington State Bar Association.

During most of the year, we meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 8:30 am.  In addition to networking, these meetings provide an opportunity to learn at quality, low-cost continuing legal education programs. In addition to specific practice areas, we offer seminars on ethics, professional responsibility, legal research tools, law office management, and marketing professional services.

Those who attended our monthly CLE presentation on April 24 were treated to an informative and interesting presentation by Kip Boyle, the well-known CEO of Cyber Risk Opportunities https://www.cyberriskopportunities.com/.  An expert on identifying and managing cyber security risks, Kip provided helpful background about cyber attacks and how they could affect your practice, and provided 10 helpful steps to reduce such risks, and comply with obligations imposed by our Rules of Professional Conduct.

At our May 22 meeting, well-known estate planning and probate lawyer Stacey Romberg and Sherry Bosse Lueders will give us an overview of some key aspects of probate and estate administration by using a fact pattern based upon the untimely demise of fictional characters, Bettina and Antonio.”

We look forward to seeing you at future Seattle Select meetings. Below is a calendar of upcoming presentations, plus our summer and holiday social gatherings. Meetings are from 8:30 to 9:45 and breakfast and coffee are provided (except for our 5:30 meeting in September, after which we will have a no-host social hour at a nearby establishment). Space is limited so please RSVP as instructed on our monthly invitation. We hope you can join us soon!
